Intel Graphics 32EU (Twin Lake)
Intel Graphics 32EU (Twin Lake): Old Xe-LP Scores 625 Points in Time Spy Graphics
In Twin Lake, Intel is once again using Xe-LP graphics, but higher clock speeds have helped improve performance. The 32 EU version in the Core 3 N355 scores 625 points in 3DMark Time Spy Graphics-approximately 45% more than the 24 EU Twin Lake model. 625 points is still low for modern games, but the 32 EU version is noticeably faster than the N150's graphics.
32 EU and Clock Speeds up to 1.35 GHz
The graphics core contains 32 EUs and 256 shader units. Compared with Alder Lake-N, the GPU architecture is unchanged, while the maximum clock speed has increased to 1.35 GHz.
The 32 EU configuration is used in the Core 3 N350, Core 3 N355, and Processor N250:
| Processor | CPU Cores | GPU | Max. GPU Clock | Base CPU Power |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intel Core 3 N355 | 8 | 32 EU | 1.35 GHz | 15 W |
| Intel Core 3 N350 | 8 | 32 EU | 1.35 GHz | 7 W |
| Intel Processor N250 | 4 | 32 EU | 1.25 GHz | 6 W |
The entry-level Intel Processor N150 has 24 EUs clocked at up to 1.0 GHz. It therefore falls behind the higher-end Twin Lake models not only in CPU performance, but also in integrated graphics configuration.
Twin Lake supports DDR4-3200, DDR5-4800, and LPDDR5-4800, but the memory controller remains single-channel. This is particularly critical for integrated graphics because the GPU uses system RAM.
Benchmarks in Real Devices
The ASUS NUC 14 Essential with a Core 3 N355 scores 625 points in Time Spy Graphics. Results for systems based on the Core i3-N305 and Processor N100 are also shown.
| Device | Processor | iGPU | 3DMark Time Spy Graphics |
|---|---|---|---|
| ASUS NUC 14 Essential | Core 3 N355 | Intel Graphics 32EU | 625 |
| Acer Aspire Go 15 AG15-31P-34JP | Core i3-N305 | UHD Graphics 32EU | 583 |
| Maxtang MTN-ALN50 | Core i3-N305 | UHD Graphics 32EU | 536 |
| Minisforum Venus Series UN100D | Processor N100 | UHD Graphics 24EU | 321 |
The ASUS NUC 14 Essential with the Core 3 N355 is faster than both systems with the Core i3-N305, even though all three use graphics with 32 EUs. Its lead over the Acer Aspire Go 15 is approximately 7%, while its lead over the Maxtang MTN-ALN50 is approximately 17%.
Intel Graphics 24EU in Twin Lake scores around 430 points, while the 32 EU version in a system with the Core 3 N355 scores 625 points. The advantage is approximately 45%.
The performance class remains unchanged, but at similar prices, the N350 and N355 have a clear graphics advantage over the N150.
32 EU Is Too Slow for Modern Games
32 EU Twin Lake remains one of Intel's slowest modern integrated graphics solutions. The additional EUs and higher clock speed help in older and less demanding games, but modern titles quickly run into the limits of GPU performance and the bandwidth of single-channel memory.
Dota 2, League of Legends, and other less demanding games will have to be run at low settings, and in some cases the resolution will need to be reduced to 720p.
Comparing 32 EU Twin Lake with Intel Arc or Radeon 700M/800M graphics no longer makes sense-the performance gap is simply too large.
More Capable for Video Than for Gaming
Intel Graphics 32EU supports hardware video decoding, Quick Sync Video, and simultaneous operation with multiple displays. For a budget mini PC, these capabilities are far more important than gaming performance.
The graphics support DirectX 12.1, OpenGL 4.6, and OpenCL 3.0. The maximum output resolution reaches 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, and up to three displays can be connected simultaneously.
As a result, 32 EU fits well in mini PCs and inexpensive laptops where video playback, multiple monitors, and low power consumption matter more. The additional EUs in the N350 and N355 simply make these systems faster than the N150 in graphics workloads.
Conclusion
Intel Graphics 32EU does not take Twin Lake beyond the entry-level class, but its 625 points in Time Spy Graphics represent a noticeable step forward from the 24 EU version.
The N350 and N355 are more appealing than the N150 specifically because of their faster GPUs, although they still offer too little performance for modern games.
