Intel Graphics 64EU (Meteor Lake)
Intel Graphics 64EU: Benchmarks, Games, and Core Ultra U Laptops
Intel Graphics 64EU is used in Meteor Lake-U processors, including the Core Ultra 5 125U, 135U, and Core Ultra 7 155U, 165U. The GPU is built on the Xe-LPG architecture and includes four Xe cores and 64 execution units-half as many as the higher-end graphics in Core Ultra H. In terms of performance, this is an entry-level iGPU for office work, video, and undemanding games.
Its Place in the Xe-LPG Lineup
Core Ultra H processors use a more powerful configuration with eight Xe cores and 128 EU, so their results cannot be applied to the U series.
In the U series, this graphics solution is called Intel Graphics rather than Intel Arc Graphics.
Xe-LPG is related to the architecture of discrete Arc Alchemist GPUs, but the integrated version has a different configuration and uses system memory. As a result, memory bandwidth directly affects GPU performance.
The 64-EU Xe-LPG configuration is also used in Arrow Lake-U, including the Core Ultra 5 225U/235U and Core Ultra 7 255U/265U. The number of Xe cores remains unchanged, so Arrow Lake-U does not move into a higher class of graphics performance.
3DMark Performance
Across different laptops, Intel Graphics 64EU scores approximately 1700-2100 points in the 3DMark Time Spy Graphics Score.
| Laptop | Processor | 3DMark Time Spy Graphics |
|---|---|---|
| Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 7 | Core Ultra 5 125U | 1709 |
| Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 | Core Ultra 5 125U | 1748 |
| HP ProBook 460 G11 | Core Ultra 5 125U | 1980 |
| Dell Latitude 5450 | Core Ultra 7 155U | 2054 |
| Dell Latitude 5550 | Core Ultra 7 155U | 2096 |
The difference between laptops with the same graphics architecture can reach approximately 20%. Results are affected by GPU clock speed, power limits, cooling, and memory bandwidth. Therefore, the result from one laptop cannot be applied to all systems with Intel Graphics 64EU.
At the lower end of the range, this graphics solution performs similarly to fast Iris Xe 96EU and Radeon 740M configurations. In models with higher power limits and faster memory, the score can exceed 2000 points.
Similar Time Spy results do not indicate identical architectural efficiency: Iris Xe 96EU and Xe-LPG 64EU have different numbers of execution units and are designed differently.
Xe-LPG supports hardware processing for AV1 and HEVC, as well as modern graphics APIs.
Gaming Performance
In undemanding and competitive games, Intel Graphics 64EU can run at 1080p on low or medium settings.
The HP ProBook 460 G11 with a Core Ultra 5 125U delivers the following results:
| Game | Resolution and settings | Average FPS |
|---|---|---|
| Counter-Strike 2 | 1080p, Low | 93 |
| Counter-Strike 2 | 1080p, Medium | 64 |
| Counter-Strike 2 | 1080p, Very High | 26 |
| Gears 5 | 1080p, Low | 39 |
| Gears 5 | 1080p, Medium | 26 |
| Gears 5 | 1080p, High | 21 |
| Gears 5 | 1080p, Ultra | 16 |
The ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 with the same Core Ultra 5 125U delivers similar results: 94 FPS in Counter-Strike 2 at low settings, 60 FPS at medium settings, and 22 FPS at Very High. In Gears 5, it achieves 36 FPS on Low and 25 FPS on Medium.
In CS2, medium settings deliver around 60 FPS, while switching to Very High reduces the frame rate to approximately 20-30 FPS.
In more demanding games, 64EU is no longer sufficient for a comfortable 1080p experience at high settings. In such cases, graphics quality-and sometimes the resolution-must be reduced.
Real-World Laptops and Prices
Intel Graphics 64EU is most commonly found in business and corporate models. The prices of these laptops vary considerably even with similar memory and storage configurations.
| Laptop | Processor | Typical configuration | Approximate price |
|---|---|---|---|
| HP ProBook 460 G11 | Core Ultra 5 125U | 16 GB / 512 GB | around $1000 |
| Dell Latitude 5450 | Core Ultra 5 125U/135U | 16 GB / 512 GB | around $850-1000 |
| Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 | Core Ultra 5 125U/135U | 16-32 GB / 512 GB | from $1300 |
| HP EliteBook 660 G11 | Core Ultra 5 125U | 16-32 GB / 512 GB | around $1000 and up |
In corporate Latitude, ThinkPad, and EliteBook models, a significant portion of the price is not attributable to the GPU. These series cost more because of their chassis, extended warranty, security features, service, and remote management capabilities.
The price of laptops with Intel Graphics 64EU ranges from approximately $850 to more than $1500, even though they remain in the same integrated-graphics class.
Competitors
AMD Radeon 740M
The Radeon 740M falls into approximately the same performance range. The two GPUs overlap in Time Spy, while the specific performance ratio depends on memory and power limits.
When GPU performance is similar, differences in the processor, battery life, display, and laptop price become more important.
Intel Iris Xe 96EU
The Iris Xe 96EU delivers similar results in some synthetic tests. It has more execution units, so the number of EUs cannot be compared directly between Iris Xe and Xe-LPG.
AMD Radeon 780M
The Radeon 780M is noticeably faster. It is used, for example, in the Ryzen 7 7840U and 8840U and is better suited to games and other tasks that are sensitive to GPU performance.
In terms of graphics performance, the Radeon 780M clearly outperforms Intel Graphics 64EU.
Intel Arc 130V
The Arc 130V in Lunar Lake uses the newer Xe2 architecture and is significantly faster than 64EU Xe-LPG. Lunar Lake also has a different memory organization and is designed for high energy efficiency.
At a similar price, the Arc 130V provides noticeably higher graphics performance.
Is It Worth Buying a Laptop with Intel Graphics 64EU?
Intel Graphics 64EU is primarily designed for office and multimedia tasks, but it can also handle undemanding games. In Counter-Strike 2, it can deliver around 60 FPS at 1080p on medium settings, while more demanding games quickly run into the limits of its four Xe cores.
It is not worth paying extra for a laptop solely because it has Intel Graphics 64EU. A Core Ultra U laptop priced at $800-900 can be chosen for its good chassis, display, battery life, or corporate features-but not for GPU performance.
At prices starting at $1000, laptops with the Radeon 780M and Arc 130V become available. Both GPUs are noticeably faster in games and graphics workloads.
In 2026, Intel Graphics 64EU is sufficient for everyday work and multimedia, but in terms of graphics performance, it is already an entry-level solution.
