MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro: 2-nm Process and 12,751 Points in Geekbench 6
MediaTek introduced the Dimensity 9600 Pro on September 15, 2026. The new flagship SoC is manufactured using TSMC’s 2-nm N2P process, features two Arm C2-Ultra cores, and uses Mali-G2 Ultra NX graphics. In Geekbench 6, the Vivo X500 Pro Max with this chip scored 4,137 points in Single-Core and 12,751 points in Multi-Core.
At the same time, MediaTek introduced the 3-nm Dimensity 9600M. There is no standard Dimensity 9600 model in the new lineup.

| Total L2 | 7 MB | 8.5 MB |
| GPU | Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 | Mali-G2 Ultra NX |
| NPU | NPU 990 | NPU 1090 + Super Efficient NPU 2.0 |
| Memory | LPDDR5X | LPDDR6 or LPDDR5X |
| Storage | UFS 4.1 | UFS 5.0 |
The Dimensity 9600 Pro has switched to Arm C2 cores and features two C2-Ultra cores instead of one C1-Ultra. The maximum clock speed has increased from 4.21 to 4.55 GHz.
CPU: Two C2-Ultra and Six C2-Pro Cores
The processor uses an eight-core 2+3+3 configuration:
- 2 × Arm C2-Ultra at up to 4.55 GHz;
- 3 × Arm C2-Pro at up to 4.35 GHz;
- 3 × Arm C2-Pro at up to 3.10 GHz.
Each C2-Ultra core has 2 MB of L2 cache. The three C2-Pro cores clocked at up to 4.35 GHz each have 1 MB, while the three lower-clocked C2-Pro cores each have 512 KB. The total L2 cache is 8.5 MB. The L3 cache is 16 MB, while the system SLC is 10 MB.
MediaTek claims up to a 17% performance increase over the Dimensity 9500 in single-threaded workloads and up to 15% in multi-threaded workloads. These figures were obtained on the manufacturer’s test platform, so results on production smartphones may differ.
Geekbench 6: 4,137 / 12,751
The Vivo X500 Pro Max with 16 GB of RAM achieved the following results:
| Test | Vivo X500 Pro Max |
|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 Single-Core | 4,137 |
| Geekbench 6 Multi-Core | 12,751 |
During this run, the two prime cores operated at up to 4.55 GHz.
An earlier sample of the same smartphone scored 2,653 and 7,516 points, but the C2-Ultra clock speed was then limited to approximately 2.8 GHz. This run is not representative for evaluating the chip’s final performance.
Mali-G2 Ultra NX and 3DMark Results
Graphics are handled by the Arm Mali-G2 Ultra NX. Geekbench identifies the GPU as Mali-G2-Ultra-NX MC12, although MediaTek does not officially specify the number of graphics cores.
On an engineering platform, the Dimensity 9600 Pro scored 9,245 points in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme and 3,104 points in Solar Bay Extreme.
| 3DMark | Dimensity 9500 | Dimensity 9600 Pro | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wild Life Extreme | 7,864 | 9,245 | +17.6% |
| Solar Bay Extreme | 2,454 | 3,104 | +26.5% |
Wild Life Extreme measures performance in a traditional graphics workload, while Solar Bay Extreme puts greater stress on ray-tracing blocks. The results were obtained on engineering platforms, so scores on production devices may differ.
MediaTek claims up to a 27% increase in peak GPU performance and up to a 24% reduction in power consumption under maximum load. For ray tracing, the company claims up to an 18% performance increase.
In tests on a reference smartphone without active cooling, Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves ran at 60 FPS for 30 minutes. Hitman Absolution maintained 120 FPS for 30 minutes, while BGMI maintained 120 FPS for approximately one hour. These results apply to the settings and conditions of the test platform and do not allow direct performance comparisons with production smartphones.
NPU 1090
The Dimensity 9600 Pro features the NPU 1090 and a separate Super Efficient NPU 2.0 for background tasks.
According to MediaTek, the LLM Prefill stage runs up to 51% faster, while models with up to 30 billion parameters are supported locally.
The power-efficient NPU is intended for background AI tasks that do not require the full power of the main processing unit.
Imagiq 1290: 8K at 60 FPS and 4K at 240 FPS
Image processing is handled by the Imagiq 1290 ISP. The chip supports cameras with resolutions of up to 200 MP, 8K video recording at 60 FPS, and 4K slow-motion video at 240 FPS.
The chip also supports 4K at 120 FPS with electronic stabilization and 4K at 120 FPS recording in cinematic log.
LPDDR6 and UFS 5.0
The Dimensity 9600 Pro supports LPDDR6-10667 and LPDDR5X-10667 memory.
The chip also supports UFS 5.0. According to MediaTek, read and write speeds can be approximately twice as high as those of the previous UFS generation.
Smartphones with the Dimensity 9600 Pro
The Dimensity 9600 Pro has been announced for the Vivo X500 Pro Max and OPPO Find X10 Pro Max.
Conclusion
The Dimensity 9600 Pro delivers noticeable gains in both CPU and GPU workloads. The Vivo X500 Pro Max scored 4,137 / 12,751 points in Geekbench 6, while the engineering platform scored 9,245 points in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme.
In Solar Bay Extreme, the result increased by 26.5% compared with the Dimensity 9500, which is particularly important for evaluating the new Mali-G2 Ultra NX and its performance in ray-tracing workloads.
