AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS - Tests in Real-World Laptops

The AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS is a mobile 6-core processor based on the Zen 3+ architecture, with support for 12 threads and integrated Radeon 660M graphics. Despite its Ryzen 7000 branding, it is based on Zen 3+ and belongs to the Rembrandt Refresh series. In terms of its key specifications, the Ryzen 5 7535HS mirrors the Ryzen 5 6600HS: 6 cores, 12 threads, a 6 nm process, and Radeon 660M graphics. The maximum clock speed has increased only from 4.50 to 4.55 GHz.

Compared with the Ryzen 5 6600HS, the performance increase is small. At the same time, the results of specific laptops vary noticeably because of power and cooling limits.

CPU Performance

The processor operates at a base clock speed of 3.3 GHz and boosts up to 4.55 GHz. Thanks to SMT, its six cores can process up to 12 threads. The L3 cache is 16 MB.

Different laptops produce similar results in single-threaded tests, while the gap is noticeably larger in multithreaded tests.

Ryzen 5 7535HS in Specific Laptops

Device Geekbench 6 Single Geekbench 6 Multi Cinebench R23 Single Cinebench R23 Multi 3DMark Time Spy CPU
Ninkear S14 1922 7611 1435 8540 5465
Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 1988 8094 1445 8613 6037
Acer Nitro 16 AN16-41-R7YE 2056 8960 1488 10900 7535

In Cinebench R23 Multi, the Acer Nitro 16 outperforms the Ninkear S14 by approximately 28%. In the single-threaded Cinebench R23 test, the gap between these systems is only a few percent.

The Ryzen 5 7535HS is only slightly faster than the Ryzen 5 6600HS. The additional 50 MHz provides a minimal performance increase, while multithreaded performance depends more heavily on the laptop’s power limits.

Integrated Radeon 660M Graphics

The Ryzen 5 7535HS is equipped with Radeon 660M graphics based on the RDNA 2 architecture. The GPU contains 6 compute units and 384 shaders, with a maximum clock speed of 1.9 GHz.

The Radeon 660M has 6 CUs compared with 12 CUs in the Radeon 680M. It can run less demanding and some older games at moderate graphics settings.

The integrated Radeon 660M in the Ninkear S14 produces the following results:

Test Result
3DMark Time Spy Graphics 1535
3DMark Fire Strike Graphics 4929

The Radeon 660M uses system memory, so its performance depends on RAM bandwidth.

Memory and Platform

The Ryzen 5 7535HS supports DDR5-4800 and LPDDR5-6400. The memory controller is dual-channel, and the maximum specified capacity is 64 GB.

PCI Express 4.0 is used for storage and discrete graphics. The processor supports 20 PCIe lanes, 16 of which are available for connecting devices.

Power Consumption

AMD specifies a cTDP range of 35-54 W for the Ryzen 5 7535HS. Different power limits explain the spread in multithreaded test results: in Cinebench R23 Multi, the difference between the tested laptops reaches approximately 28%.

Conclusion

The Ryzen 5 7535HS differs only minimally from the Ryzen 5 6600HS: the additional 50 MHz of boost clock provides a small performance increase, while the architecture, core count, and integrated graphics remain unchanged. The implementation of the processor in a specific laptop has a much greater impact on performance-in our sample, the difference in Cinebench R23 Multi reaches approximately 28%.
